Kelowna Wedding Budgets: What Should You Expect to Spend?

Let’s Talk Money: Kelowna Wedding Prices

The first big step in planning a wedding? Talking about your budget. Yep, we’re diving into the dollars and cents of it all. It’s no secret that one of the biggest challenges is figuring out how much to spend, who’s contributing, and what’s important to you. There’s a wide range of amazing vendors to consider in the Okanagan – and each comes with its own price tag.

Let's walk through typical Kelowna wedding prices, how to allocate your budget, and where it makes sense to save or splurge.

Disclaimer: Every wedding is different! These numbers are just averages based on what I’ve seen planning mid-range weddings in Kelowna for 2025 and 2026. Your budget will depend on your guest count, priorities, and the level of luxury you’re going for. So, take this as a starting point, not a rulebook!

How Much Does a Kelowna Wedding Cost?

It’s no secret that wedding costs have skyrocketed in the past few years. So, the first question that comes to mind for many couples is, “How much does a Kelowna wedding cost?” While the price can vary depending on factors like guest count, venue, and the type of vendors you choose...

Expect to spend anywhere from $30,000 to $50,000 on the average mid-sized wedding (100 to 150 guests).

This number can go down with DIY aspects and cutting corners or up if you’re looking at luxury venues, top-tier vendors, and larger guest lists. It’s not unusual to see luxury weddings go upwards of $75,000. Start by talking to family members who may contribute, setting realistic expectations, and deciding what’s most important to you. Then, you can create a budget from there.

Where Does the Money Go? Biggest Wedding Expenses

Here’s a breakdown of typical wedding costs, using a $45,000 budget as an example. Prices can easily be higher or lower, but this provides a realistic starting point for mid-range weddings in Kelowna.

Catering & Bar – 23%

Food and drinks will likely be one of your largest expenses. Costs depend on your guest count, menu, and whether alcohol is included.

  • Catering (15%): $60 to $120 per guest (varies by service style, menu choices, and extras like hors d'oeuvres or late-night snacks)

  • Bar Service (8%): $20 to $50 per guest (depending on a hosted bar or cash bar)

Venue – 20%

Kelowna wedding venues range from lakeside resorts to winery estates. Prices vary based on location, time of year, and inclusions.

  • Venue: $5,000 to $20,000

💡 Tip: Choosing a venue that includes tables, chairs, and staffing will help you save money over others that require additional rentals.

Photography & Videography – 17%

Capturing your wedding day is priceless, but it does come with a cost! These vendors book up FAST in the Okanagan, so book early.

  • Photography (8%): $3,000 to $6,000 for full-day coverage

  • Videography (9%): $3,000 to $6,000 for highlight reels and full coverage packages

Florals, Decor & Stationery – 11%

How much you spend here depends on how elaborate your vision is. A lot of the time, if you want more florals, you can have fewer decor rentals and vice versa, so these are interchangeable.

  • Florals (5%): $1,500 to $5,000 (bouquets, ceremony flowers, reception centrepieces)

  • Decor & Rentals (4%): $1,500 to $5,000 (tables, chairs, linens, lighting)
